Water Baptism

Dead By Water!

That might sound strange, but water baptism is really a burial service for a dead person. Now you don't really die in the water when you get baptised, but by faith you declare that you are dead to living on your own, independent and isolated from God. You are dead living just to please yourself. You are dead to following the influences of sin and darkness. You are dead to distrusting God.

Romans 6:3-6 "Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.

Through Death You Tap Into Resurrection Life

Remember the Cross is the symbol of this death, and the power Satan had over mankind was put to death in the Cross of Jesus. Therefore, it is a symbol of death, but also a symbol of life...life and victory over Satan. When Jesus said, "take up your cross", He was saying, "believe that my death was symbolic of your death too…death to obeying Satan." Essentially we trust in this truth daily for the power of resurrection life to be manifest and present.

Luke 9: 23 "And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me."

Death is the Key to Victory Over Sin

Dead people don't sin! Death through the cross is a legal separation from Satan and Adam's kingdom, setting you legally free from the voice and dominion of Satan. Meaning you don't have to obey him any longer. You'll recognize his influence more readily and be able to resist.

In WATER BAPTISM you are breaking all covenants with Satan and his kingdom. To bring real power and clarity to your legal separation you should take covenant breaking steps at the time of water baptism.

Here are helpful steps to a process of victory to break the old covenants of sin and the curse.

Admit: Make a list of the thoughts and behaviors that you know are wrong, sinful and unholy.

Confess: Acknowledge to God the Father, in a spoken prayer, the wrong way of thinking and acting that you have accepted as a part of your lifestyle and thinking.

Repent: Tell God that you are rejecting that sinful, limiting ungodly way and you are turning away from living according to this sinful pattern.

Renounce: Verbalize that you are done with old patterns and submitting to the unclean spirits that are involved.

Resist: Tell the enemy to leave you alone the next time he shows up.
