Jesus makes it very clear that serving God and our fellow man is important as a believer. It's crazy to think that the Son of God came not to be served but to serve.
The sign of the good life is to be served. We go to a restaurant and are served our meal. We judge a store on their 'service'. It's a great thing to sit back and enjoy another's work. It's fun for a while and then we can get bored and feel useless. That's because contrary to our human thinking, we find our purpose in serving. Giving and helping and serving bring a sense of life and love that you can't get any other way. Feeding the homeless, teaching children about Christ, doing things that benefit people and the Kingdom will give you a feeling of strength. Jesus loved serving. He was constantly found with children around Him, serving food, loving and imparting.
